A new Avenue
Its no secret retail is under pressure like never before. However with change comes opportunity and town centres will emerge as different places when the current revolution in the High Street emerges in its new incarnation. This is likely to be broader than just a place where you can buy things and be based more on experiences . It will also be sustainable and celebrate the joy of nature.
The Avenue is being re positioned as a place where local independents will mix with bigger brands. A coffee come bike repair shop will provide the only covered café in the town centre. There will be offices, event spaces, a giant TV screen for public screenings and in due course a roof top bar and places to live.
Independant Pop-ups
ALONGSIDE BIGGER BRANDS
Big brands such as Sports Direct, HMV, The Perfume Shop and The Works bring people into the town, whilst the independents that sit alongside them provide individuality, interest and fun.
Instead of being places to simply buy stuff, town centres need to offer something more interesting and meaningful. Four smaller spaces have been created specifically for smaller independents. In line with the sustainable aspirations of the newly re positioned centre independent retailers/start ups with interesting and compatible ideas are sought.
A rich history
Restoring and redesigning the original building facade. What original fabric that remains will be brought back to life and those parts that have been destroyed will be replaced by living planting, celebrating Bournemouth’s renowned parks and gardens.
